Issue 2 - Summer 2025
The through line and gentler turn from our launch issue, per Ben Moyer’s suggestion, is a focus on the natural world of Western Pennsylvania. We simply slowed down in Issue 2. A rather fitting metaphor considering I broke my toe as I was putting the magazine together and was forced to respect the pause. This de-emphasis on 100 Milers and endurance sports opened up the opportunity tomeditate on the natural wonders of the Yough River Valley and the Rachel Carson Trail, captured so eloquently in words and photos by Tim Palmer and Sean Carroll. Slowness, however, is not a surrender to adventure and mischief. Encounterswith wild creatures, which Ben Moyer writes about, can be as thrilling as hittingyour PR or topping 40 mph on a downhill bike or ski descent.
